On February 10, 1940, we were introduce one of the most recognizable dynamic duo of all time. Being over 162 films, winning 7 Academy Awards, and been making people laugh for 80 years. I of course talking about the cat and mouse duo, Tom and Jerry. The Tom and Jerry animated shorts uses slapstick instead of dialogue to express to comedy. Though the slapstick is quite violent, it has made people of different generations laugh. Tom and Jerry has been making us laugh for years however, they don't have star on the wall of fame. Many animated characters have a star. Donald Duck, Snoopy, Shrek, Woody Woodpecker, Winnie-the-pooh, The Simpsons, Bugs Bunny, Minnie Mouse, and of course Mickey Mouse. Tom and Jerry deserves to have a star just as the ones I mention before. Though they are animated characters, their influences spread further than you think. Figures such as Whoopi Goldberg has express her love the cat and the mouse. I made this petition because Tom and Jerry means a lot to me. When I was younger I would watch them with my brother and we would laugh together. Spending time with one another and having an laugh is what Tom and Jerry is about. Just having an Laugh. if this petition doesn't get enough attention it wouldn't be bad, not even world threatening. But I will should that because they're animated, people sees them for kids. It will show that it is animated, it's for kids and not Hollywood important. But Tom and Jerry isn't for kids. People still watch, laugh, make memes, listen, and still talk about these two characters. Tom and Jerry are just as important to animation as the same level of Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse. Them having a star will show that people still love watching animated characters, it will show importance to our animation and to our comedy. Tom and Jerry are more than animated characters, they are symbols that shows everyone enjoys a good laugh.
