University of Arizona Students, Alumni, and Community: If you don't already know, the University of Arizona is faced with severe budget cuts. In particular the College of Architecture has enacted a hiring freeze for all faculty members, and as a result, Tom Powers, a fine and outstanding professor is not being considered for rehire. This is one of the biggest mistakes that the University of Arizona and the College of Architecture can make. Professor Powers has been an inspiration to students and an asset to the university as a whole. In our education system today, we cannot afford to lose professors with exceptional teaching skills who are devoted to helping their students gain great knowledge and love for the subject they are embarking. Professor Tom Powers is an outstanding instructor who absolutely, without hesitation, loves his job and the students he teaches. Professor Tom Powers is one of the most outstanding student-oriented teachers University of Arizona and the College of Architecture has today. Great educators in all areas and levels of teaching should be cherished, appreciated and awarded. Professor Tom Powers is kind, supportive, and inspiring, and he personifies the greatness of the University of Arizona and The College of Architecture faculty. LET US PROTECT OUR HARD WORKING PROFESSORS. KEEP PROFESSOR TOM POWERS ON BOARD PERMANENTLY!!!
