Concerned Citizens of the Town of Grafton that would like to limit the R3 Zoning (1 acre min.)
We, the undersigned, concerned citizens of the Town of Grafton, urge our Town Board Supervisors (Town Board & Planning Commission) to revise the R3 Zoning (1 acre minimums & 1,250 sq ft. homes) East of HWY 43. The citizens of the Town of Grafton are concerned about the future vision and property zoning direction being set throughout the Town of Grafton as described in the new Land Use Plan. A primary reason we have chosen to live in Grafton is because of its rural feeling, open space and "Quality Life, Naturally". Grafton's proximity and border to Lake Michigan is a special gift to its residents, supporting an abundance of wildlife, foliage, open-space and natural beauty that many communities do not get to enjoy. We ask theTown Board to refrain from implementing the R3 zoning designation as laid out in the Land Use Planning Map, and rather institute zoning which would allow for a maximum density of 1 home per 3 acres in new developments East of Hwy 43. We also ask that the current R1 zoning of 5 acre minimum for lots East of Lake Shore Road be maintained.
