The need for a traffic light at the intersection of Bradbury and Dessau has been an on-going issue since July 2017, when the first of several serious accidents occurred. It was then that Harris Ridge neighborhood associations began communicating with Councilmember Leslie Pool and the Austin Transportation Department. As a result of those talks, the intersection of Bradbury Lane and Dessau Road was studied twice by ATD, which finally granted a recommended status for a four-way traffic signal. Over the past three years, our HOAs have initiated phone calls, emails, and meetings with officials to call for the installation of a traffice signal. This petition is intended to supplement that effort, and bring the additional voices of the residents of the affected neighborhoods to the City of Austin's attention.

In order to insure the public's safety, the combined neighborhood associations of Harris Ridge hereby petition the City of Austin and the City of Austin Transportation Department to install a traffic signal at Bradbury Lane and Dessau Road.
