With the introduction of the new 7.3L 'Godzilla' V8, Ford now has two gas engines available for the F250 and F350 platform. While these engines are plenty powerful for many people, the fuel economy is nowhere near their 6.7L diesel counterpart, leaving much to be desired with the stock 34 gallon gas tank many of these trucks are outfitted with. While a 48 gallon gas tank is available, it only comes with a long bed configuration, which many customers do not want to buy.
Right now there is only one company producing 50-state legal replacement fuel tanks for modern Ford trucks with a gasoline engine, and that is Transfer Flow! Founded in Chico, California by a former General Motors Engineer, Transfer Flow has produced high quality OEM fuel systems for RV manufacturers, as well as aftermarket solutions for the work truck and mainstream automotive industries since 1983.
Transfer Flow has released a massive 45 gallon replacement tank for the F150, but has not produced a gasoline replacement tank for the Super Duty platform.
Because there is significant costs associated with developing and certifying a replacement gas tank with the EPA and the CARB, developing a new replacement tank for the Super Duty platform represents significant financial investment, and risk, for Transfer Flow.

I am honestly blown away by how many of you have joined this effort since I first put it up. We are creeping toward 500 signatures and I truly believe if we keep pushing we might grab the attention of the team at Transfer Flow. This whole thing has moved so far past what I imagined it would.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you took a moment to show interest in this project. This kind of momentum belongs entirely to the community who actually drives these trucks. It is proof that we all have the same frustration, and I am just lucky to be the one who hit the button to start the conversation.

The only thing holding me back on a gas Super Duty is the tiny tank. I live in Alaska, it’s not a matter of pee breaks it’s a matter of there not being gas stations everywhere.
We are purchasing a Tremor to pull our camper cross country and request a longer range. Gas stations aren’t readily equipped for the exceptionally long rig and I would rather visit them as little as possible.
If you build it, we will buy it. Stopping for gas every 250 miles with a truck and trailer is a pain with the gas pumps being so much harder to get into rather than Diesel
We are a dealer for your products. We agree with these customers the shortbed ford Superduty gas engine is a highly used tow vehicle that has only about 29 gallons until it shows 0 miles to empty. So 29 usable gallons but has a 34 gallon tank. When towing is get 6-9 mpg.
I had a 46 gallon TF tank in my Tundra we recently sold. Going back to a 34 gallon tank is not a good solution for us who travel in lonely remote corners of this country and Baja. I WANT A BIGGER TANK! I will be one of the first to have one installed once they become available.

As the aftermarket catches up, the potential for the 7.3 will make it a hit for people that tow but do not want the emissions and maintenance of a diesel. These people will also invest in a longer range solution.
