Teens Take the City, Chinatown YMCA- Healthy School Meals
What\'s the Problem Current school meals have artificial ingredients, preservatives, and have high fat, salt, and sugar contents that harm the physique of an individual trying to further their education. This can lead to consequences that consist of diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, hypertension, and heart problems. What\'s the Solution Our policy is to promote healthier lifestyles through more nutritional school meals. According to nutritional guidelines, in order for one to be healthy, one must consume diets high in vegetables including leafy greens. Our new diet guidelines would include ingredients that are low fat- which would prevent drowsiness, low salt- which helps keep blood pressure low, and low sugar- which would help prevent obesity and diabetes. Our plan incorporates government supported local farmers to supply the schools with fresh vegetables and ingredients.
