Don't invite David Cameron to switch on Witney's Christmas lights this year (2012)
We the undersigned call on Witney Town Council not to invite David Cameron to switch on Witney's Christmas lights this year, but to allow someone more deserving to do it. The honour should be given to someone who has benefited our community. Such as one of our brave firefighters or ambulance crews. Or maybe a group of local NHS workers who often feel the affects of government policy head on. We feel that it is inappropriate to have to explain to children on what should be a happy occasion, who the man stood next to Santa is. As it is his decisions that have put their futures in jeopardy. We want the evening about our towns community and not about a man who has chosen to not represent us in OUR government! We can also call on David Cameron to not accept any invitations from the council should they refuse to listen to our calls.
