For those of you that are not yet aware, UCR has recently made changes to the way commencement ceremonies will take place this year. At previous commencement ceremonies, commencement took place outdoors and all Business Administration graduates took part in commencement together. This year, however, UCR has decided to hold commencement indoors at the recreation center, severely limiting the number of guests that can attend (through a system of tickets), and break-up the BSAD graduates into two groups based on last name, thus holding two separate commencement ceremonies. Essentially what this means is that most of you will not be able to graduate at the same time with your friends and classmates, if their last name is not part of the same group that you will be part of. Personally, I feel as though this is absolutely ridiculous. After attending classes for four years with a lot of the same people, and becoming friends with a lot of these people, I definitely want to attend commencement ceremonies and graduate with them at the same time.
