Obtain Greek Housing at the University of Hartford
We, the undersigned actives, alumnus, and supporters of Greek Life at the University of Hartford, are strongly opposed to the lack of recognition Greek Life receives at The University of Hartford. Greek life constitutes about 15 percent of the undergraduate student body with many in leadership positions. We feel that the time for Greek housing has come for the University of Hartford. A great portion of Greek life tradition resides in Greek housing and the appreciation of the ownership. The University of Hartford lacks and is in need of Greek housing. It would support the expansion and growth of leadership in the student community. Currently, we are operating out of chapter rooms in the basement of the Complex dorms with very little maintenance being done. It is time for an expansion and we believe we have earned the right to Greek housing. We seek proper Greek housing in one of the following: a) Build Greek Housing that would also incorporate Chapter rooms. Those living in the Greek Housing would be responsible for the damages and up keeping of the living units as well as the Chapter room and will pay these costs through a separate bill. Details of this arrangement can be discussed in full if this option is picked. b) Purchase Off Campus Housing that would be used for Greek Housing. The university can choose the Greek organization that deserves this housing. Details of this arrangement can be discussed in full if this option is picked.
