Pledge of UNITED Americans

Clinton Supporters: (Also Johnson, Stein, McMullin, & Other Supporters)

  • I pledge to accept that Donald Trump won the American vote and is the President-Elect of the United States.
  • I pledge to be gracious in Clinton’s defeat and give President-Elect Trump the opportunity to make decisions that protect the rights, safety and welfare of all Americans.
  • I pledge to stop the characterization of Trump supporters as bigots, racist, etc. I acknowledge that there are a lot of reasons people voted for Trump that are absolutely not rooted in hatred of other Americans.
  • I pledge to step in and stand beside other Americans if they are harassed and made to feel unsafe in our country.
  • I pledge to look for the good in people that have different beliefs than I have and respect their right to their opinions.
  • I pledge to send President-Elect Trump a positive message that states:

I did not vote for you, but I accept that you are the President-Elect. I vow to give you the opportunity to lead this country in good faith and protect ALL American citizens. Please help US (one America) to stop the hate that is currently occurring in America as a result of this election. I will do my part, please do your part by speaking out against these acts of hate and violence.

Trump Supporters:

  • I pledge to be gracious in Trump’s victory, accept that Hillary supporters are hurt and disappointed, and try to understand how I would feel if Trump had lost the election.
  • I pledge to stop the characterization of Clinton supporters as being part of the corrupt system. I acknowledge that there are a lot of reasons people voted for Clinton having nothing to do with accepting or condoning political corruption.
  • I pledge to step in and stand beside other Americans if they are harassed and made to feel unsafe in our country.
  • I pledge to look for the good in people that have different beliefs than I have and respect their right to their opinions.
  • I pledge to send President-Elect Trump a positive message that states:

I voted for you and am happy that you are the President-Elect. I vow to give you the opportunity to lead this country in good faith and protect ALL American citizens. Please help US (one America) to stop the hate that is currently occurring in America as a result of this election. I will do my part, please do your part by speaking out against these acts of hate and violence.

All Voters:

  • Send a positive message to President Obama that states:

I (did/did not) vote for you, (and/but) you are still our President. Please help US (one America) to stop the hate that is currently occurring in America as a result of this election. I will do my part, please do your part by speaking out against these acts of hate and violence.
