USA RACQUETBALL BOARD ELECTION -- A month or so ago, I posted here on Facebook declaring my intention to run for the USA Racquetball board of directors. I felt it was the right time for me to do whatever it was that I could to help the sport that I love thrive and flourish into its next generation.

This week, I was notified that the current election committee did not see me fit for a position on the ballot to be voted on next year. In order to be included in the ballot, I would have to solicit 125 signatures from the membership population, which I 100% intend to do!!!

While I am disappointed in the decision to not be included by the current board members, I am actually even more excited to earn my way on to the ballot this way, because this means that the PLAYERS want me on the ballot. The players, fans, and people who LOVE this sport are the ones who I am trying to get on the board to try and help, so I see it as a perfect way to start this process.

Now I wish that in the year 2015 that USAR had a way for me to solicit e-signatures, but instead I have to do it the "old school" way and get them in person. So I apologize if you see me in the next few months that I will be pestering you for a signature, but I promise it is for a good cause!

I have, however, created an online e-signature site that I ask you to please sign as well. I believe in this important time for racquetball it is imperative we display a united front, and work together towards a brighter future for the next generation of players. I look forward to getting my signatures, EARNING my way on to the ballot, and hopefully joining the board next year, despite being declined this week.

Thank you all, and if anyone wants to private message me, email me, text me, or call me about this, I look forward to hearing from you!

As a non profit there should be rules and regulations for disclosure they have to follow. I hope you get on the board and make things right

Well deserved!! Sad to see they will not let a younger generation supporter involved in a sport that is quickly dying. We need younger players such as Johnathan to move the sport to a better direction! Shame on the existing board for not supporting and embracing him!

Jonathan Clay would make a valuable asset to USA Racquetball. His love and passion for the game is commendable and something we don't see enough of in this sport. I believe he truly wants to help improve the game and make it more relevant. As a former top Open player, tournament director and state president, I 100% support his nomination.

I met Jonathan Clay the very first day he began playing racquetball. Since then he has established and fostered a collegiate intramural program as well as start his own company to support his love of the sport. His passion for the game is contagious and he seeks to make decisions in the best interest of the players and the fans. He is selfless, innovative and passionate about his work. He would be a welcome addition to this new position.

I have watched John turn a small start up clothing company into a mainstream racquetball clothing company. His love for the game is un parrelled.
