STOP THE UNIVERSITY CUTTING STUDENTS' UNION SERVICES IN UUC
Petition targeted at:
University of Ulster Senior Management
We want them to:
Repeal the recent decision by the University of Ulster to forbid the Students’ Union from providing a full complement of services and facilities following the move from South Building to Central Building.
This is important because:
The move to Central is welcome news to the SU, providing us with an excellent location for our student activity. However, the University has disregarded the Student Voice in recent plans in relation to the move. The Students’ Union currently offers a range of services to Students including affordable catering as well as a vibrant social space in South Building. However, following the move to Central, Students will be deprived of proper facilities as the University implements restrictions on our activity.
Students have a right to an affordable, lively and vibrant SU. If the University stick with their plans to privatise all catering in UUC, Students will have no options for a reasonably- priced meal on campus. We intend to provide a social hub with a relaxing atmosphere where students can have a cheap hot meal or alternatively bring lunch. This decision by University Senior Management will severely impact the student experience for years to come.
