Vikram Mandelia for Class Treasurer
Hi everyone! My name is Vikram, and I humbly ask my fellow classmates for the honor to serve as part of the single JD rising 2L class as Treasurer. I have really enjoyed getting to know many of you, both in the virtual classroom environment through our group projects, as well as through events with the various student groups (I HIGHLY recommend virtual drag queen bingo with The Outlaws and the WLC!!!). In particular, I really enjoyed attending the game nights the current class leadership has held, and the friendships and connections I have formed with the class have inspired me to want to run for the Treasurer Position.
I graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in English and a BS in Engineering. During both my time in undergrad, as well as my time as a professional before law school, I had many opportunities to hone my leadership skills. At MSU, I served as treasurer for my dormitory’s community service organization, as well as served as a resident assistant for four years. I also had the chance to participate in public service internships – I was a legislative intern for Former Senator Carl Levin and a White House Intern for President Obama, experiences that helped me to further learn and grow my leadership skills. I can draw upon these experiences and help contribute to the leadership of the class.
Law school in itself is a unique experience. This past year of navigating our first year together in a virtual environment only adds to the uniqueness of our shared experience together. I have enjoyed being on this ride with you all, and would love for the chance to serve our class in a leadership role as class treasurer. Thank you for your consideration!
