From: North Brookline Neighborhood Crime Taskforce. (This is a grassroots citizens group of neighbors seeking action from Brookline on a growing crime problem)
The Petition:
This Petition seeks additional Brookline Police Presence in the North Brookline neighborhood (Coolidge corner: St. Paul St, Pleasant St. Freeman st.) impacted by the 6+ month crime wave including multiple armed robberies, daytime house burglaries, and most recently the stabbing of an unarmed pedestrian on 1/29, 8PM.
This petition is seeking an increase in police presence and improved transparency from town officials (town adminstrator & selectmen, police dept) on policing and public safety measures to ensure resident safety in a family neighborhood with many children, students and retirees.
Requested:
1) Increased police presence in North Brookline neighborhood.
2) A clear ongoing policing strategy to address this violent crime wave.
3) Regular community meetings with town officials and the neighborhood to review actions being taken and get feedback from the community.
