We Appeal to the Government to consider as an exception, citizenship applications made by Sports and other distinguished persons,born outside Zimbabwe but of Zimbabwean Heritage.This we do for propose for the reasons we advance as follows:

1 Sports persons are potential forex earners and investors for our beautiful country

2 Sport gives our country a good international Appeal which we need at this moment in time.

3 The Sportspersons have immediate dependants here in Zimbabwe and that right of association must not be in anyway hindered by legislature.

4 The exposure of these cadres to international sport practices can only work and add value to our Sporting teams,which will in turn fly the zimbabwean flag higher.

To this end,we particularly note the relentless efforts by the following soccer players to regularise their citizenship but facing legislative techinicalities

1 Maccauley Bonne

2 Kundai Benyu

3 Thandolwenkosi Velaphi

4 Adam Chicksen

These players were all born outside zimbabwe to zimbabwean parents and do wish to represent zimbabwe at the forthcoming edition of the Africa Cup of Nations

It is with this plea that we implore the Government of Zimbabwe to make it possible that these sports persons acquire Zimbabwean passports within the shortest possible time and they make the trip to Egypt.

We remain proudly Zimbabwean,for it is in our DNA.
