Petition to Protect The Yeats Library of the Yeats Society (founded 1959)
Petition to Protect The Yeats Library of the Yeats Society (founded 1959) Dear Friends of Irish Heritage I am seeking support to protect the intellect and honour of The Yeats Society Ireland and looking for joint signature petition. this is because a neighbouring Technology institute is planning to rename their Library the Yeats Library and conflicts with the The Yeats Society's Mission. My proposed Petition is; "The Yeats Society of Ireland, located in the Yeats Memorial Building, Sligo, founded in 1959, is recognised world wide as the birth place of the original Yeats Society and is regarded as the main point of contact for scholarly works, lectures and the Yeats summer schools. It has an extensive library, considered as The Yeats Library, of which the Yeats family, the trust and the Yeats council uphold and hold a duty of care, to expand the intellect and works of the Yeats heritage, his literature and fellow scholars of the life and works of the William Yeats and his connected family and associates there of. The petitioners who have signed below agree and accept that the place of notoriety for the 'The Yeats Library' is at the Yeats Memorial Building Sligo, under the trust of the Yeats Council. WE do not accept any other establishment in Sligo, Ireland or abroad to be named The Yeats Library. There shall be only one such Library called under and by that name." Signed below; David Mullins and fellow Petitions supporters; (if you agree add your name and return)
