Lawns should be as safe and friendly to earth’s environment as they are to the kids that play on them. The correlation between various pediatric pathologies and childhood exposure to pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers is now well-established from a medical standpoint. The American Academy of Pediatrics recently reported that: “Epidemiologic evidence demonstrates associations between early life exposure to pesticides and pediatric cancers, decreased cognitive function and behavioral problems.”
